Hawaiian Dream is delighted to bring you the Aloha Festivals - a fabulous celebration of Hawaii’s Music, Dance and History.  They happen throughout September and October and have been the highlight of everyone’s calendars for over 60 years.  Aloha Festivals has grown to encompass many events on the six different Hawaiian islands spanning a two month period. This year marks the 61st Anniversary which will be highlighted in a story with kings and queens from Hawaiian history.

Hawaii, for many outsiders, conjures up images of colourful flowers, especially in the form of leis, or necklaces. The Aloha Festivals Floral Parade on Honolulu celebrates the islands' abundant array of floral life and is a sight to behold. The day is filled with a multitude of floral floats, pa'u riders and marching bands. The procession is one of the most impressive in the whole of the US and is shown on national television. Yet, nothing beats the sweet smells and real colours of actually being there!

 On Lana'i there is a home-style parade, Ho'olaule'a, with hula dancers, an Aloha Beach Day and a host of cultural events. This year's highlights include performances from accomplished local artist Halau Hula Ka Makani Hali'ala O Puna of Hilo–try saying that after a cocktail or two…
