CYPRUS
Limassol Wine Festival happens every year in late August and early September.  The tradition stems from ancient times when Greeks would have spectacular celebrations dedicated to Dionysus, the God of Wine, and Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love and Beauty. The Limassol Wine Festival is today’s equivalent of the ancient celebrations with the first
wine festival organised in 1961.  Cypriots and visitors alike are welcome to taste an assortment of wines from the island and local dishes.  Limassol is the centre of the biggest grape-producing region of Cyprus and the festivals slogan is “Drink wine, it
gives you life”!
